Anne Lockhart (born Anne Kathleen Maloney on September 6, 1953) is an American actor from America. She was best known as Lieutenant Sheba on the television show Battlestar Galactica ( 1978-1979). Her mother is actress June Lockhart and granddaughter of actor Gene Lockhart. The career of Lockhart began from a young age. at the age of four she starred in the film T is for Tumbleweed. This short subject film was nominated for an academy award. The actress would often be seen in the film alongside her mother so she was able to learn the finer points of running a business. Lockhart was even a part of several seasons of Lassie. The first film she appeared in included Dora in Jory in 1972. In 1972, she had turned 18 year old when she appeared as Joan Crawford's daughter on the program on television called The Sixth Sense. The series was Joan's final role. Many believe that Anne was not interested in the role of Laurie Strode for John Carpenter's 1978 film, Halloween. Jaime Lee Curtis was cast in its place. Carpenter affirms that the actress declined his invitation to perform the role of Laurie Strode. Anne did not remember John Carpenter contacting her or suggesting the role. Perhaps one of her representatives declined the role on her behalf, and without ever informing her. Glen Larson sent her an unfinished draft of the script in which she would play the role of a character in 1978's television show Battlestar Galactica. The character was not strong enough to convince her to take on the role. In the future, Glen created a brand new character exclusively for her featuring the character that was stronger, Sheba. She was able to accept the Living Legend script after reading its first 25 pages. The show ran for just one season. She starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the movie Joyride (1977) and co-starred together with Michael Moriarty in the horror movie The Dark Tower (1987).
