Stevie WonderStevland Hardaway Morris (ne Judkins; May 13, 1950), known professionally as Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter, who is acknowledged as an influencer and pioneer by musicians from a variety of genres including rhythm and blues, pop soul, gospel, funk, and jazz. The use of synthesizers in the 1970s by Stevie Wonder, as well as other electronic musical instruments helped make R&B the ultimate one-man show. Wonder was also instrumental in the emergence of such genres during the album era. His LPs were consistent and coherent as well as socially conscious statements with complex compositions. Wonder, who was born blind shortly after his birth was signed at Motown's Tamla label aged 11. He was then given the professional title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's success on the critical scene was at its highest in the 1970s. The band's "classic period", beginning in 1972 it was when he released Music of My Mind.
