
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, making her the youngest player in the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, making her the youngest and sixth most prolific athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
